September 21,1987
The Regular Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory
Board Meeting was called to order at 5:05 p.m. by Vice
Chairman Beverly Melton, 326 City Hall.

PRAB approved the minutes of the August 17, 1987
Regular PRAB Meeting.
PRAB approved the minutes of the September 8, 1987
Special PRAB Meeting.
5 -YEAR PIN
Mayor Marilyn Johnson presented a 5 -Year Pin and
Certificate of Appreciation to Connie Edmonston, Assistant
Parks Director, for five years of dedicated service to the
Fayetteville Parks Department.

III. GULLEY PROPERTY
CITY BOARD AGENDA
It was the consensus of PRAB to make a presentation re-
garding the Gulley property to the City Board Agenda
Meeting on Wednesday, September 30, 1987, 326 City Hall,
at 8:30 a.m.
Mayor Johnson suggested this meeting would be in the
best interest of time.
IV. TURKEY TROT
Connie Edmonston informed PRAB about the upcoming
Turkey Trot to be held Sunday, November 15, at 2:00
p.m., at Lake Fayetteville. Racing events are listed
below:
Kids Run (1 K) Fun Run for 10 and under
5 -Mile Run Held for 8 Age Groups
Civic Group Relay (New in 1987)
V. LONG-RANGE PLANNING MEETING
Edmonston requested PRAB give serious thought to park
planning. Plans will be reviewed at the Long -Range
Planning Meeting on Monday, October 5, 1987, from
5:00 p.m. - till ?, and held at Room 326 City Hall.
VI. OTHER BUSINESS
Connie Edmonston reported the following:
Autumnfest will be held October 9, 10, 11, 1987.
Dale Clark and Connie Edmonston have sent their article
entitled PRE -CAST CONSTRUCTION enaon The Way to Go For
Recreational Facilities, to several sports publications.
A complimentary letter was read from the Soccer
Association praising Dale Clark, William Waite, and
Sid Norbash, for the cooperation in the new soccer fields.
