MOUNTAIN 72701 (501) 521-7700 PRAB REGULAR MEETING August 17, 1987 The Regular Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board was called to order by Vice Chairman Beverly Melton at 5:12 p.m. Colwell, Lashley, Lucas, Melton, York Edmonston, Speck PRAB approved the minutes of the Regular PRAB meeting of August 3, 1987. GREEN SPACE - EDMONSTON 1.CLOVER CREEK II Owner: Allred Developer: Lafayette Park District:S.W. Location: Off Clover Drive and Lorena Lane 27 Single Family Development Corporation and between Eden Circle Units: Units Land Dedica- tion Require- ment: Money in Lieu: 27 x .0125 = .34 Acres 27 x $105 = $2,835 MOTION: LASHLEY/YORK PRAB makes -the recommendation to accept money in lieu of a dedication for the Green Space requirement in Clover Creek Addition. Community Building 2 Tennis Courts 2 Volleyball Courts Pool MOTION: YORK/COLWELL PRAB makes the recommendation to accept money in lieu of a land dedication .or the Green Space requirement in the' College Station Project. Motion passed unanimously. (5-0) II. OPEN CHANNEL STATUS - Lucas, Edmonston Steve Voorhies, Open Channel TV, has met with Edmonston for additional input before full-scale production of Fayetteville parks commences. PRAB recommends that Open Channel TV focus on four parks, such as Finger Park, Wilson Park, Walker Park, and/or Walker Park!. North, and Lake Fayetteville. Also, neighborhood parks,such as Sweet briar, Hotz, Greathouse, and Gregory Park, should be considered for inclusion. Funding, to date, for this project is by $125 from NAVCO, the Gregory Park Trust Fund, and any other willing con- tributors are welcome. III. ADDITIONAL PARK LAND - Colwell As a follow up to the July 6, 1987 PRAB meeting, Colwell reported 20 acres of the Gulley property may be for sale at $6,000 per acre. 'SQUARE GARDEN SIGN Edmons"ton FRAB reviewed wording for the Square Garden Sign, which reads: "Fayetteville Parks Department - Square Garden - Funded by City of Fayetteville Downtown Fayetteville Unlimited - Contributions to .the Fayetteville Development Foundation Trust Fund" • MOTION: COLWELL/LUCAS • PRAB recommends' the Square-Gar-den.sign.be placed on the northeast corner .'of_.the-squ'are,-inside the sidewalk, so 'that the' sign -may be' esS ly.viewed by passers by. • Motion passed unanimously. -0) V. :OTHER BUSINESS • No PRAB meeting will be held Monday, September 7, 1987..
