REGULAR MEETING
April 20, 1987
The Regular Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory
Board came to order at 5:00 p.m.
Colwell, Lashley, Lucas, Melton, Ryan, Waite, Yarbrough, York
Clark, Edmonston, Speck
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Hunt, Jim Lindsey
COACHES CLINIC CLARK
Thirty-five coaches from Little League Baseball, Babe
Ruth Baseball, Girls Softball, and Soccer League,
attended the Coaches Clinic held at the University
of Arkansas HPER Building. Mark Latham, Siloam Springs,
presented the program.
'EASTER EGG HUNT-Edmonston
The. Parks Department and IGA.co.-hosted the Easter Egg
Hunt on Easter Sunday,.afternoon, April 19, at Wilson
Park. Forty-one volunteers assisted withthe hunt
which hosted an estimated two thousand five hundred
participants.
'SOFTBALL INSURANCE -CLARK.
. The ASA provides insurance.for.$60 per team with $250
deductible. Springdale Girls Leagues went for the
the program. Rogers purchased medical insurance from
a local company for $1. per person per .team
Springdale charges $10 per girl with $125 sponsor fee.
The Fayetteville Youth Center charges a $125 sponsor
fee and $8fee for each. girl to play.
No insurance is provided for other sports.

HUNT PROPOSAL -Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Hunt, Jim Lindsey
Various suggestions were made about the proposed
tract of land of interest to Mr. and Mrs. Hunt.
MOTION`. LUCAS/COLWELL
•PRAB will look into possible projects and work
with Mr. Lindsey tor presentation to the City
board if" a site Y3 mutually agreed upon.

HUNT PROPOSAL - Continued
Further, the Facilities and Development Committee
Chairman Lucas, Colwell, York, will meet at the
Youth Center at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 22,
to look at land possibilities.
NETTLESHIP PROPERTY - MELTON
Beverly Melton reported that Mae Nettleship has
indicated there is no change of getting any of
her property until Drake Street is built.
UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS SAILBOAT
BUILDING CONTRACT - EDMONSTON
PRAB reviewed the University of Arkansas Sailboat
Contract Agreement prepared by City Attorney James
McCord.
MOTION COLWELL/LUCAS
PRAB moves to accept the revised agreement between
the City of Fayetteville and the University of
Arkansas for the Sailboat Building.
Motion passed unanimously. (7-0)
Dr. Ryan will present the agreement to the University
for their approval of the contract before submittal
to the City Board of Directors.
PUBLIC RELATIONS -LUCAS
Lucas and Colwell will look further into Open Channel
prospects and make recommendations to PRAB.
