MOUNTAIN 72701 (501) 521-7700 PRAB REGULAR MEETING April 6, 1987 The Regular Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board came to order at 5:00 p.m. Minutes of the March 16, 1987 Regular PRAB meeting were approved as corrected. Colwell, Lucas, Melton, Ryan, Waite, Yarbrough, York Clark, Edmonston, Speck Mrs. J. B. Hunt, Jim Lindsey, Anita Whillock UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS SAILBOAT BUILDING/CONTRACT-DR. RYAN A contract for the Arkansas University Sailboat Building will be reviewed by James McCord, City Attorney; if ap- proved, the contract will then be passed on to the City Board. LAKE FAYETTEVILLE DOGWOOD PROPOSAL Action on the Dogwood Proposal at Lake Fayetteville was tabled. HUNT PROPOSAL -MRS. J. B HUNT, JIM LINDSEY Various proposals were discussed, including fee simple, municipal golf course, museum, and endowment; however, no decision was reached. PLAQUE -SQUARE GARDEN It was the consensus of the Board that wording for a 10"x16"plaque to be strategically placed at the Square Garden should read: In Memory of John Mcllhanney, Original Designer, Fayetteville Square Garden. ADULT CENTER -Anita Whillock The Adult Center request will be placed on the next Agenda for the City Board of Directors Meeting. VI. FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT 113 W. MOUNTAIN 72701 (501) 521-7700 PRAB Regular Meeting - Minutes - April 6, 1987 GREEN SPACE Developer: Park District: Location: Single Family Units Green Space Land Requirement: Green Space Money in Lieu: Hayes South East Park Place Phase V 24 24 x .0125 = .3 Acres 24 x $105 = $2,520 MOTION: LUCAS/YARBROUGH PRAB makes the recommendation to accept money, $2,520, in lieu of a land dedication for the Green Space requirement in the Hayes, Park Place Phase V subdivision. Motion passed unanimously. (8-0) VII. REPORTS - CLARK Coaching Effectiveness Clinic will be held Thursday, April 16, at the University of Arkansas HPER Building. Baseball Seminar will be held Sunday, May 3, 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. at Walker Park. Ninety-two teams have entered. VIII. MEETING ADJOURNED: NEXT MEETING: DATE MINUTES APPROVED: SOFTBALL INSURANCE REPORT Clark will have a firm recommendation for softball insurance by the next regular meeting. PUBLIC RELATIONS -LUCAS Lucas reported that Open Channel, at a charge of $125. will make a series of film on approximately twelve to fourteen parks.
