BOX 1174 FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. 72702 (501) 521-6611 January 20, 1987 Don Grimes, City Manager Members Parks & Recreation Commission City of Fayetteville Administration Office - Fayetteville, AR 72701 Dear Don and Board Members: I have been approached by J. B. and Jonelle Hunt in regards to the possibility of working with the City on a mutually beneficial effort on the city property on the west side of Highway 265 and south and east of Lake Fayetteville as shown on the attached map. Mr. Hunt would be interested in leasing the area designated and Tract A and Tract B on said map and building a $2,000,000 home on Tract A. Mr. Hunt would beautify this area and allow the public to have access to por- tions of the property and would have his home open to tours on designated dates. The benefits to the City would be: (1) An overgrown grass field could become a beautiful scenic park. (2) An observatory could be opened on the south and east side of the lake for the public. (3) At the end of the 99 year time or sooner, the City would have possession of this property. The motivations for the Hunts to do this are: (1) They think this site is beautiful. (2) The would like to give back to Northwest Arkansas many of the benefits. they have received. Your consideration to this proposal would be greatly. appreciated.
