MOUNTAIN 72701 (501) 521-7700 PRAB SPRING TOUR April 22, 1986 PRAB PRESENT: Rodney Ryan, David Lashley, Bill Waite, J:.O. York, Chuck Yarbrough, Beverly Melton, Andy Lucas PARK STAFF: Dale Clark, Connie Edmonston The Spring Park Tour started at lam in Wilson Park on Tuesday, April 22, 1986. The following suggestions and recommendations were made by PRAB during the park tour. WILSON PARK Wilson Park Sign on park south end by the City Pool Need Metal bannister or screen on side rails of slipper slide. Extend RR ties & sand under slide ladder Need sand under merry-go-rounds. Replace missing rock picnic table bench Need concrete pad under new drinking fountain Cut dead limbs on south side of park Take bridge out by the pool Stop sign on southwest corner of Wilson Street Press for sidewalks around the perimeter of the park GREGORY PARK * Suggestion: clear area on west end of park for picnicking Need area to get cars off the street for parking * Fence needs spray painted * Take fence out on far east corner where it is hard to park. Need fillin and red clay for corner area to park LAKE FAYETTEVILLE BOATDOCK * Need more stalls, and possibly another loading ramp * Sanitation Department to paint dumpster * Clearout underbrush further east for boat storage and keep west end for parking SPRING TOUR PRAB Page 2 FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT 113 W. Other possible RV Campground site located f ield #3. Would need an entry road. east of Boatdock along Lakeview Drive. remain simple with chat, electric hookup and Clear brush to the lake. Need picnic tables Parks is designing RV Campground. LAKE FAYETTEVILLE SOFTBALL COMPLEX behind Softball * Set poles prohibiting cars parking that block Service Gate. * Paint garbage cans * Benches between fields #1 & #2 bordering Rock garden * Investigate possibility of turning culvert bringing drainage between fields #1 & #2 to drain straight south * Investigate using greenhouse screen (shade cloth) on upper backstop of field #1 * Plant two trees behind middle bleacher on Field #1 with fence around them to the sidewalk * Need more trees everywhere. Club needs to finish retaining wall. PROPOSED PARK - Gregg Street & Future Drake Street Extension * Pursue purchase of land. GREEN SPACE PARK - Bryce Davis (Highway 16 West) * Park to be dedicated this summer. CHARLES J. FINGER PARK * Need Park Sign off of Highway 62 to the park * Barn will be torn down soon. * Mowers to pickup glass/paper before they mow over them SPRING PARK TOUR ADJOURNED 9:20 pm.
