DRAWER F 72702 (501) 521.7700 PARK & RECREATION DEPARTMENT PRAB SPRING PARK TOUR May 1, 1984 lam PRESENT: Dale Clark, David Lashley, Rodney Ryan, Charlie Sego, Connie Edmonston The following recommendations were made by PRAB: WILSON PARK - Need picnic tables on top of the hill by the Swimming Pool. FINGER PARK - Playground equipment and picnic facilities are here - Need to do some clearing and cleaning up - Parking lot is underway WALKER PARK NORTH - Parking lot is underway - Need to do clearing for picnic and playground equipment Clark said the park crew will start on it in July BABE RUTH PARK - Bleachers are ordered - Fields look good - Possibility of canoe trails down the creek COMBS PARK - South locate the model airplanes - North locate soccer/football/softball/playing fields - Need to consider 10 -year plan in that the Model Airplane Course needs to be to the side so that we can eventually utilize the other area as needed. - First priority is to build a road and need a parking lot. - Can not spend alot of money on a special interest group such as the Model Airplane Club, but feel the need that it is essential to move them and help out as much as possible. LAKE SEQUOYAH - Replace road post on the west side of the bridge - Need to do something with Lake Sequoyah house. If Mr. Burnfiend is not interested, move on ahead to find another tenant. - Problem and holdup with the house is that the water is bad. Work with getting water into the trailers up the road so that the City and residents can work together. FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS P. D. CITY PARK/SCHOOL PLAYGROUNDS - Need to improve the school playgound and playing field turfs. - Get Patti to writeup a proposal to be presented to the School so that both City and School can help to upgrade. (Horticulturist LAKE WILSON - Dam pipe is closed off - Need to shut the water off even if it were to remove the tower. However, the tower doesn't have to be removed - Need to get county to work on the road. - Project for D.W.I. program is to shovel off the dirt & pickup trash at the pavilion. - Need to fix the lake leakage problem and thsn develop the park as the public demands. - Need to work on the pavilion and trails HIGHWAY MEDIUMS - Parks mow everything except Jone's. LAKE FAYETTEVILLE SOUTH - Bob needs to pickup the leftover railroad ties from the Boy Scout Trail project - Need signs LAKE FAYETTEVILLE BALLFIELD - Immediate attention given to cement stairsteps between Field #1 and #2. Need to fill in and build cement steps to help solve the drainage and erosion problems. - Eventually rebuild Field #1 dugouts out of cement like the ones on Field #2 & #3 - Rebuild bathrooms unattached to the concession stand and use the existing space for concessions. - Need more signs - Need a pavilion or shelter LAKE FAYETTEVILLE BOATDOCK - Will eventually need more boat stalls FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS P. 0.
