HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-09-02 - MinutesSeptember 2, 1971 • FAYETTEVILLE PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD MEETING Attendance; Chairman Broyles, Lashley, Raymond, Winborn, Kruger and Clark. Mr: Raymond presented a budget request for 1972 (attached copy). There were five members present from the Fayetteville Model Airplane Club. They explained that they were loosing their present flying sight and were seeking another area. Mr.iWinborn recommended that certain lands in the lake Fayetteville area, des cribed as East of Lake Wood Drive and Yest of Cutoff Road, be used for Adult Recreation of Model Airplane Flying. The motion was seconded by David Iashley and passed. It was also noted that an access culvert would be necessary. • Mrs. Broyles met with the East Fayetteville Citizens Council at their regular meeting. A discussion on recreational facilities versus social center was held. A consensus was arrived at that preferred an athletic facility and suggested location be Jefferson School. The current budget was reviewed, and the Board suggested that certain items such as a new chlorinator for the City Pool be purchased from this current years budget Dale Clark was directed to prepare a tentative budget for 1972 and submit it to the Advisory Board ten days prior to the next meeting in October.
