The meeting was called to order by David Lashloy, the chair
mans The following members were prescnt. Lars. Wooten# Dr. Ryan,
Mr. Brandon, Mr. Winborn, and 115r� Sutton, Mr. Harry Vandergriff
was a guest.
The minutes of the last meeting dere reviewed and approved
as written.
Mr. Vandergriff was introduced by Lor. Lsshley. He talked
to the com, issicn about the poosibility of constructing four
tennis courts near the High School and the Boys' Clubs on Har-
man ?lay Field. He had received a cost estimate from Tune Ccn-
struction Company of ?2 8000 Por concrete courts and '10,000
for asphalt courts from Anchor Construction Company. The school
• board voted to contribute P50000 toward the construction and a
private donation of ''s•l 000 is available if the courts could be
built in the nex•b three or four months. Pros and Cons were dis�
cussed as to the exact loontion, either on a split level next to
the high school or where the baveball diamond is located next to
the club. Idr. Vandergriff made a request for;some assistance
from. the City Recreation Department.
Mr. Winborn made a motion seconded by Dr. Ryan that the

The Director renortod that McClelland Engineering Com-

pany is doing the surveying at the V.A. Park sight and we

A letter hrs been.written to "tr. Shreve thanking him for
the ahrnbbory he donated'that was planted in the City Perk.
IPar, Brandon read a letter from Dr. Coker regarding the
Little Leaguelo request for a e:2.000 donation to help finance
the program. A copy of the letter is enclosed. No action
! was t•,.ken and the request will be considered at a later msot-

• Mrs. Wooten reported on activities at the adult center.
Their Federal :Yunds had been cut due to tho disapproval of
their matching funds. The Federal Fundswill continue through
Juno 1971. Tizoy have purchased a new organ for the center,
Walter Rolf will be the r. -.ow director starting April 15th, Jane
Hodges has resigned to get married,
Claude Sutton reported on a request from the Northwest
Arkansas P+To del Airplane Club* to have the city set aside space
for their gram at the ?:owaae disposal area. The committee
