December 13,1949
The regular monthly meeting of the Library Board was held at 7:00 p.m.;
on December 13,1949. Mr.McWhorter was in the chair.
Members present were Mr.McWhorter,Mrs.Vincenheller,Miss Vaulx,
Mre.Richardson,Mrs.Swartz,Mr.Meriwether,Mr.Oreenhaw,Mr.Bumpers,and
Mr.McMillen.
The minutes of the regular and special November meetings were read
and approved.
It was voted to accept with regret and appreciation the resignation
of Mr.Karl Qreenhaw from the Board.
It
was
voted to elect Mr.Leonard
Oreenhaw to the vacancy on the Board
caused
by
the resignation of Mr.Karl
areenhaw.
Mrs.Swartz reported that Mrs.V.We Adkisson would not be available for
the position of librarian,le£t vacant by the resignation of Mrs.Wiggans.
Mr.Mcwhorter reported that Mrs.Paulsr4d accepted the special work for
December of assisting the Librarian..
The Librarians report showed a total circulation of 2468.The month
previous it was 2124 and the preceeding year for the corresponding month
the circulation was 2072.
The Treasurer's report showed a balance in the First National Bank
of2$43.,1821
Mrs.Deal,the new County Librarian,met with the Board after the fore-
going business had been cleared and explained the proposed Washington
County Library budget for 1950.It was voted to accept this proposed budget.
The following resolution from the Official Board of the Central Presby-
terian Church was presented but no action was taken:'
"ResolvedsThat the facilities of the Fayetteville Public Library
be open to all citizens of the city." `to mcrrc.or4w
