October 11,1949
The Library Board held its regular monthly meeting on October 11
at 7.00 p.m..in the Library rooms.Mr.MeWhorter presided.
Members present were Mr.McWhorter,Mrs.Vincenheller,Miss Vaulx,
Mrs.Swartz,and Mr.McMilleh.
In connection with Mr.MeWhorterrs report about the purchase of
books,the Board expressed the same feeling as he,that the matter was
lagging,especially the purchase of children's books.
Miss.Valux volunteered to give the Library a supplementary list
of books 'suitable for purchase in which the public might be interested.
The Librarian's report was read and is filed with these minutes.
It showed it circulatlon of 1908.That of the preceding month was 2080
and that of the corresponding month of 1948 was 1602.
The Treasurer,Mrs.Vincenheller,reported for August and September.
The balance in the First National Bank at the end of the latter month
was 01923.91.
It was voted to abolish the rental shelf.
