September 9,1949
f:} The Library Board convened in regular session on September 13 at 7:00 p.m.
in the Library rooms.Mr.MeWhorter presided.
Members present were Mr.MeWhorter,Miss Vaulx,Mrs.Swartz,Mr.Meriwether,
and Mr.McMillen.
The minutes of the August meeting were read and approved.
It was voted to ask Mr.Blossom's opinion concerning whether or not the
Branch Library at the Lincoln School should report the monthly circulation.
The Librarian's reports for June,July,and August were read and ordered
filed.
It was agreed that Mr.Mcwhorter would discuss with the Librarian the
matter of the purchase of books and with Mr.Blossom matters concerning
the booko-nneds of the Lincoln School and related matters..
It was voted to:refer the A L B Procurement Plan to Mr.MeMillen so
that he may consult with Mr.Marvin Miller,University Librarian,about the
advisability of making use of the plan.
The suggestion was made that the Library be opened each day from five
to six in the evening for the benefit of the business people.
4` The question was raised as to the availability of statistical stftndards
by which to measure the degree of service the Fayetteville Public qs"
rendering. '1
