August 9,1949
The Library Board held a regular session on August 9 at 7:00 pm.in
the Library rooms with Mr.McWhorter in the chair.
Members present were Mr.McWhorter,Mrs.Vlncenheller,Mr.Meriwether,
Mr.Blossom,Mr.Dykes,and Mr.McMillen.
The minutes for the meeting of May 10 were read and approved.The min-
utes for the June meeting were not available.A quorum was not present at
the July meeting.
The complete report of the Librarian was not available ht this Board
meeting,but the circulation for July was reported to be 2900.
Mr.Blossom reported that the suggestion had been made that the presi-
dent and the secretary of the Community Club of the Negro community in
Fayetteville be responsible for issuing books at the Lincoln School Branch
Library.The Board voted that their appointment be approved.
Mr.Blossom also reported that a room had been set aside for the branch
library in the Lincoln School.
The Treasurer reported for -the months of May,June,and July.The report
for the last named month showed a balance in the First National Bank
of $2364.15.
Mr.McWhorter reported that the County Library has a new librarian,and
he -further stated that q representative of the State Library Commission
is coming from Little RoXck to discuss with the County and City libraries
the matter of amalgamation.
