The Fayetteville rublic Library Board met in regular session on
March 7,1949 at 7:00 p.m. in the Library rooms, Mr.P,4cWhorter in the chair.
Members present were Mr.McWhorter,Miss Vaulx,Mrs.Swart�",Mrs.Vincenheller,
Mrs.Richardson,Mr.Meriwether,end Mr.McMillen.
The minutes of the regular and the organizational meetings of January 11
were read and. approved.It is noted that the Febraery meeting was suspended.
The reports of the Librarian were read -for January and February.The for-
rier showed a total circulation of 2277 and the latter.2108.The corresponding
months for 1948 showed a circulation of 2490 and. 2065 respectively.
The reports of the Treasurer showed a balance in the First National Bank
of $803.91 for January and $1773.78 for.February. ,
It was voted to approve the budget for 1949 as presented by the Treasurer,
Mrs.Vincenheller.
The President,Mr.MeWhorter,reported that he would have conversations
with the County .hedge and Mr.Kennan relative to the matter of the our Library
becoming a part of the County Library.
It was voted to accept with thanks a painting presented to the Library
by Mr.C.C.Yarrington and. to hang it in the Library rooms.
It was voted to approve an order for books amounting to the sum of
$193.19 and to instruct the Librarian to continue to use her own judgment
in the matter of spacing her book$ orders to save freight charges,with the
caution that she keep within the budget allowance.
