HomeMy WebLinkAbout1948-09-28 MinutesMinutes of the Library Board Special Meeting September 28,1948 On call of the President of the Board a special meeting of the Library Board met on September 28 to discuss the matter of the amalgamation of the County Library and the Fayetteville Public Library. Members present were Mr.McWhorter,presiding,Miss Vaulx,Mrs.Swartz, Mr.Blossom,Mr.Meriwether,Mr.Greenhaw,Mr.Butler,and Mr.McMillen. Also present were the five citizens authorized to meet with the Board for advisory purposes:Mrs.Watson,Mr.Miller,Mr.Russum,Dr.Jordan,and Mr.Waggoner'. The minutes of the Citizens.Meeting held at the Christian Church on September 23 were read. The President of the Board stated the purpose of the called meeting: The possibility of securing aid under the Federal Aid Project was reported <r7 Mr.Miller in connection with a state -county library system. The Board took the following action concerning the matter of the pro- posed county mill tax petition for a county library: It, was voted to inform the County Library Board that the Fayetteville Library Board approves the inclusion of Fayetteville in the petition for the county library millage.-tax.
