The Library Board met in regular session on March 901948 at 7:00 p.m*
at the Library.
Members.present were Mrs.Vincenheller.Mrs.Richardson,Mrs.Swarta,
Mr.Butler,Mr.Meriwether.and.Mr.MeMillen.
. The Secretary called
the meeting to order and in the
absence
of the
Chairman.Mr.McWhorter,the
Board appointed Mr.Meriwether to
act as
chairman.
The minutes of the previous month were read.end approved.
The report of the Librarian showed a total circulation of 2065,a decrease
of 425 in comparison with January.The circulation for February 1947 was 2082.
The report of the Treasurer showed a balance in the First National Bank
of VWP,(PA� $848.94.
In reply to the Librariants question concerning the matter of binding
periodical$ it was voted that the budget allowance of $100 for this year
should not,,§xceeded. .
It was voted to accept the offer for a copy of Who's Who at a discount
of fifteen per cent.
It was voted to refer to the Souse Committee the matter of painting.the
:'stairway hall and the matter of a broken window.
It was voted to approve the Librarian's request for an Baster vacation
and to count.the number of days so spent as a part of the annual.vaoation
with pay.
At the February meeting of the Board it was voted to.approve the pur-
chase of four volumes.of books on music from the International Library of
Music subject to the approveal of Mr.Osborne.The Librarian was authorized
to make the purchase in view of Mr.Osborne's favorable recommendation,but
the minute was overlookedand failed to get in the minutes of that month.
The Committee appointed to investigate the book needs of the Lincoln
School reported that Miss Dawkins will furnish a list of books that the
school should like to have and that Miss Milton will make a supplementary list.
