The minutes of the December meeting v;ere read and approved..
'he Librarianis report showed a total circulation of 1085,a decrease of
511 in comparison with the preceding rnonth.'The circulation for Lecember 1940
was 1271.
The 't'reasurer's report showed a balance in the First Notional Lank of'.
w1140.81,
it was voted to instruct the Secretary to weite a letter to iar.Fred herr
of the Payetteville High School, thanking himand the manual training class
for the fine piece of work they did on the book case for the library.
It was voted to make an appropriation of as much as :,p56 for books for
the Lincoln School,the selection to be made by 14r, 1'.losso;a,.rs.iiiehardson,and
siss Dawkins.

Fayetteville Public Library Board
Annual Meeting 1948.
The annual meeting of the Fayetteville Public Library Association was
.,:held on January 13,1948 in the Library rooms.Mr.McWhorter,President of the
Board,presided.
The minutes of the annual meeting for 1947 were read and approved.
The Treasurer.Mrs.Vincenheller,made her annual report,which showed a
balance on hand in the open account of $1146.81,a saving account in the
McIlrog Bank of 0471.97,government bonds in the amount of $1400,aiid one bond
gift of $25. Her report also showed that the Library Association's total as-
sets to be 03043.78.
The Secretary read his annual report,which reviewed some of the activities
of the work of the Bound during the year.
The annual report of the Librarian was made by Mrs.Qus Bryant.Her inter-
esting report showed a total circulation during the past year of 22,382.Net
accessions for the year were 881.She reported that the Library was open 306
days and that it was open 49 evenings with 430 visitors.During the year 599
new cards were issued,the report goes on to state,making a total of 7394 cards.
A letter from the former Librarian,Mrs.Edmund Watson,was read,stating the
pleasure she had received in her work at the Library and in her associations
with the Board.
The Association elected the following to Board membership for the three
_,)year term$Mrs.Delbert Swarts,Mr.Sarl 6reenhaw,and Mr.Edward Meriwether.
The Association gave a vote of appreciation to the Librarian,Mrs.Ous Bry-
ant.and to her assistant,Miss Patricia Rogers.for their faithful and efficient
services.
