November 12,1946
The Library Hoard held its regular monthly meeting; on November 12
with llr.ivlctihorter presiding.
Members present; MrtMellihorter,lviiss Vaulx,Mrs, Richard son, Mrs. Swartz,
...i'dr.Greenhaw,:Ir.Butler,and Mr.McMillen.
The Librarian's
report,read
and now filed with
these
minutes, showed
an increase in total
circulation
over September of
151.
In addition to the regular form report the Librarian made an inter-
esting,helpful,and commendable special report under the caption of
IlLibrariants Remarks"giving information concerning a new file and let-
tering the classification number on the Library's books.
In answer to the Librarian's reouest for permission to discard copies
of the Northwest Arkansas 'Dimes and such periodicals as the Ladies'Home
Journal and other magazines of this type,unindexed in the reader's Guide
to Periodical Literature and in a dilapidated condition,it was voted to
approve the recommendation and graht the permission with reference to the
Ladies Home Journal and that type of magazine but to delay action with
reference to the Northwest Arkansas Times.
It
was voted to
close the Library
during Christmas week and on New
Year's
Day.
Mr.Karl Greenhaw was unanimously elected Vice=President of the Board
to fill the unexpired term of A,9r.Waggoner,
lith reference to the matter of whatishould constitute a quorum of
the Board,it is noted that Mr.Greenhaw kindly consented to investigate
the matter and report to the Hoard after looking over the official copy
of the Boardfs constitution and articles of incorporation,delivered to
him by the Secretary.
