.1hd iLibrary Board met in regular session on May 14,1946 with Mr.McWhorter
presiding.
;Members present were Mr.McWhorter,Miss Vaulx,Mrs.Vincenheller,Mrs.Swartz,
Mr.Butler,Dr.Basler,and Ur.McMillen.
The minutes of the April meeting were read and approved.
The Librarian's report was read and ordered filed.
Mrs.Vincenheller read the Treasurer's report.It was voted to accept and
file it with these minutes.
It was voted to approve the Librarian's recommendation that Mrs.Chaney
be given a three monthys leave of absence during June,July,and August with-
out pay.
It was voted to approve the Librarian's additional recommendation that
Miss Shipley of the Leverette School take Mrs.Chaneyfs place at $50 a month
during this three-month period.
It was voted to go on record to express our approval of the Public Libra-
ry Service Demonstration Bill,which is now in Congress and to instruct the
Secretary to write a letter to our two senators and our representative in
Congress,urging them to support the bill.
It was voted to accept with regret the resignation of PMr.Waggoner as
Vice -President and member of this Board and to instruct the Secretary to
write him a letter of appreciation.
It was voted to elect iMr.Karl Greenhaw to replace Mr.Waggoner on, the
Board.Mr.Greenhaw's election was unanimous.
