Members present were..Blossom,Jordan,McWhorter,Root,Vaughan,Vaulx, Vincenheller,Wertheim. The minutes of the December meeting were read and approved. The treasurer's report for December was read,approved,or- dered filed. The librarian's report for December was read and accepted. The treasurer read a letter from the Community Chest an nouncing a payment to the library. There was some discus- sion after the reading of a possible bonus from the chest, expected by us but not yet in evidence. The treasurer's report ,may for the year 1941 was read and ordered filed. The treasurer then reported on the budget adopted for y� 1941 and the actual receipts and expenditures for the year,which closely agreed with the proposed budget. The report of the librarian for the year 1941,to- gether with a statistical breakdown was then read and ordered filed.The book committee's report was presented and discussed in open meeting. There followed discussion re the work of the buildings committee and the work with childrens' books carried out by Mrs. Richardson- Various activities carried out during the year,such as the anniversary tea,were brought to the attention of the members. Various reasons for the falling off in the use of books during 1941 were discussed,also possible needs of the library. Motion..Dr. Jordan..that a vote of thanks be given the women's clubs for their support of the library..passed. Motion..Mr. Blossom..that a vote of thanks be tendered Miss Galloway for her splendid work as librarian..carried. Mrs. Vincenheller calls attention to splendid work of the assistant,Mrs. Donner. Mr. McWhorter also talked on this topic. The meeting then proceeded to the election of three board members to replace Mr. Greenhaw,Mr. Pdc Whorter, and Mrs. Richardson. Mr. McWhorter left the chair,which was taken by Mr. Wertheim. Mrs. Waters acted as secretary during the election. �E.Wertheim,Secy. pro tem. Election. Mrs. Caldwell nominates Mr. Meriwether, Mr. Blossom moves nominations close and unanimous ballot.Carried. Mrs. Vincenheller moves Mrs. Richardson succeed herself. Motion for unanimous ballot carried. Minutes of After Meeting of Library Board 1 January 13,1942. On adjournment of the Open Meeting of the Library Association,Mr. McWhorter took the chair. The first order of business was the elec- tion of officers for the year. It was moved by seQonded by that the present officers succeed themselves. Carried. It was moved (Blossom),seconded (Wertheim) that Mrs. Donner be paid at the rate of $20 a month at present. The question of still further increase in salary was left for future decision. Carried. Miss Galloway was re-elected as Librarian for the year. Announcement of committees. Publicity. Mrs McClelland Budget. Mrs. Vincenheller,Mr. Blossom,Mr. Meriwether. Books.
