HOUSING AUTHORITY OF
THE CITY OF FAYETEVILLE, ARKANSAS
The Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas met in Regular
Session at 6:OOp.m., Thursday, October 23, 2014, in the City Administration
Building Room #111.
Matthew Cabe, Chairperson, called the meeting to order at approximately
6:00 p.m.
Commissioners Present: Matthew Cabe, Mike Emery, Christopher Terry, and
Carma Unruh.
Commissioners Absent: Leon Jones, Jr.
Others Present: Fredia Sawin and Deniece Smiley (Fayetteville Housing
Authority), and Rob Sharp of Partners For Better Housing Group.
New Business:
A. Approval of Minutes of Previous Regular Board Meeting — No corrections
or changes were made to the September 25, 2014 Regular Meeting Minutes
— The Board approved unanimously.
B. Approval of September 2014 Financial Statements — September 2014
Financial Statements were reviewed and The Board approved unanimously.
C. Update on Partners For Better Housing Group by Rob Sharp — Rob Sharp
presented the Board with site plans for their two (2) pending projects:
Workforce Liner Building which is to be located on the intersection of
Spring and School Avenue and their Willow Bend Housing on Wood Street,
adjacent to Morgan Manor.
D. Approval of Resolution # 1001 — Authorizing the Close -Out and Transfer of
Section 8 Arvest Bank Savings Account: 5054205 Funds in the amount of
$4,861.24 to the Section 8 Arvest Bank Checking Account# 105054201.
Christopher Terry made the motion to accept Resolution #1001 and Mike
Emery seconded.
E. Approval of Resolutions# 1002 — Authorizing the Close -Out and Transfer of
Public Housing Bank of America Savings Account#004590203781 Funds in
the amount of $12,562.22 to the Public Housing Banks of America Checking
Account # 004590201864. Christopher Terry made the motion to accept
Resolution # 1002 and Mike Emery seconded it.
F. Election of Chairperson and Vice Chairperson to Serve a One Year Term
from 10/23/2014 to 10/22/2015. Matthew Cabe opened the Floor for
Nominations. Mike Emery was nominated for Chairperson and Christopher
Terry was nominated as Vice Chairperson. The Board accepted the
nominations and voted unanimously for Mike Emery to be Chairperson and
Christopher Terry to be Vice Chairperson.
G. Executive Directors Report — Fredia Sawin reviewed her written report.
Matthew Cabe requested that the board go into Executive Session to discuss a
personnel matter. The board held the discussion and reopened the meeting with
Christopher Terry making a motion to accept the notice of Resignation from Fredia
Sawin, Executive Director to be effective on February 4, 2015 and Mike Emery
seconded it. The vote was unanimous.
