HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-09-26 - Minutes - Archiver MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER 26, 2013 REGULAR MEETING OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS The Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas met in Regular Session at 6:00 pm, Thursday, September 26, 2013, in the City Administration Building Room #111. Matthew Cabe, Chairperson, called the meeting to order at approximately 6:OOpm. Commissioners present: Matthew Cabe, Leon Jones Jr., Christopher Terry, Jon Edwards and Mike Emery. Others present: Fredia Sawin and Deniece Smiley (Fayetteville Housing Authority), Misty Newcomb, Executive Director of Prism and staff, and Jon Comstock, of Legal Aid of Arkansas and unnamed tenants. New Business: A. Approval of Minutes of the Previous Regular Board Meeting — no Corrections or changes to the August 22, 2013 Regular Meeting Minutes — the Board approved unanimously. B. Approval of August 2013 Financial Statements — August 2013 Financial Statement were reviewed and with thee being no questions - the Board approved unanimously. C. Approval of Resolution #970 — Authorizing the Charge off Delinquent Accounts of Former Tenants for Period 06/01/13 to 09/30/13. Mike Emery made a motion to accept Resolution # 970, seconded by Jon Edwards. D. Approval of Resolution #971 — Authorizing the Charge off of Certain Non -Expendable Equipment that was Junked. Leon Jones, Jr. made a motion to accept Resolution #971, Christopher Terry seconded. E. Approval of Resolution #972 — To Void Checks from Fayetteville Housing Authority Funds Outstanding over Six Months from date of Issuance. Leon Jones, Jr. made a motion to accept Resolution #972, and Jon Edwards seconded. F. Approval of Resolution #973 — Approving FY 2013 Public Housing Operating Budget Revision. Leon Jones, Jr. made a motion to accept Resolution #973, and Christopher Terry seconded. G. Approval of Resolution #974 — Adopting New Hillcrest Towers Balcony Policy. Jon Edwards made a motion to table the adoption of the policy and it was seconded by Matthew Cabe, the Chairperson. Leon Jones, Jr. amended the motion to review the policy with possible decision on next meeting, seconded by Matthew Cabe. H. Updated Proposal from Prism Preschool Agency to Lease Willow Heights Head start Building. Misty Newcomb, CEO, made amended proposal based which included Prism paying $200/month for utilities costs. Leon Jones Jr. made a motion to accept the amended proposal and Mike Emery seconded. I. Presentation from Matthew Petty on Case Studies in relation to Affordable Housing. The speaker was absent and this item was moved to next month's board meeting. J. Executive Director's Report. Fredia Sawin reviewed her written report. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned until the next scheduled Regular Board Meeting on October 17, 2013.
