HOUSING AUTHORITY
THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS
The Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas met in Regular Session at
6:08pm on May 30, 2013 in the City Administration Building, Room #111.
Matthew Cabe, Chairperson called the meeting to order at 6:08pm.
Commissioners Present: Matthew Cabe, Mike Emery, Jon Edwards, and Leon Jones Jr.
Others Present: Fredia Sawin and Deniece Smiley (Fayetteville Housing Authority)
Randall J. Hoeschen (Ledford Engineering and Planning),
Steve Ficklin and Steve Craig (S.E. Clark & Associates, Inc.),
Corporal Dan Montgomery, ( Fayetteville Police Department),
Brian Pugh, (City of Fayetteville Solid Waste and Recycling),
Visitors Present: Chris Terry
New Business
A. Approval of Minutes of Previous Regular Board Meeting - No corrections or
changes to the April 21, 2013 Regular Meeting Minutes and the board approved
unanimously.
B. Approved of April 2013 Financial Statements — April 2013 Financial Statements
were reviewed and there being no questions the board approved unanimously.
C. Five -Year/ Agency Plan Presentation by Randy Hoeschen with Ledford Planning
and Engineering was given. Board was provided with copies of plans to review
and to direct all questions and comments to Randy and Fredia. They were
informed that the plans needed to be approved prior to July 18, 2013 electronic
submission to HUD.
D. Presentation from Brian Pugh, Fayetteville Solid Waste and Recycling and
Corporal Dan Montgomery, Fayetteville Police Dept. on behalf of " Keep
Fayetteville Beautiful" organization. They requested a letter of support and
willingness of Housing Authority to allow art murals to be painted on a wall of the
owned housing properties for the "Think Green Award" application.
E. Update on Lewis Plaza Redevelopment and application from ADFA for low
income tax credits. Steve Finklin and Steve Craig presented a letter written by
Steve Clark explaining the results of the February 15, 2013 application. Attached
was the May 7, 2013 Notice of Threshold Failure from ADFA. There were
questions and discussion from the board. .
F. Approval of Resolution No. 961- Authorizing The Award of Contract For Hillcrest
Towers Capital Fund Emergency Grant 3AR37E097501-12 Project — Mr. Jones
motioned to accept Resolution No. 961- seconded by Mike Emery and carried
unanimously.
G. Executive Director Report- Ms. Sawin reviewed her written report.
H. A visitor, Chris
Terry, was introduced to the
board. He had
shown an interest in
Membership on
the
board and
was
invited to
observe board
meeting.
There being no
further business,
the
meeting was adjourned until the next scheduled
Regular Board
Meeting on June
27,
2013.
