MINUTES OF THE JANUARY 24, 2013 REGULAR MEETING OF THE
HOUSING AUTHORITY OF
THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS
The Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas met in Regular Session at
6:00 p.m., January 24, 2013, in the City Administration Building, Room #111,
Fayetteville, AR.
Matthew Cabe, Chairperson called the meeting to order at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Commissioners Present: Leon Jones, Jr., Mike Emery, Matthew Cabe
and Olivia Horn
Commissioners Absent: Jon Edwards
Others Present: Fredia Sawin, Deniece Smiley and Laura Higgins
(Fayetteville Housing Authority) and Steve Ficklin
(Steve Clark & Associates)
New Business
A. Approval of Minutes of Previous Regular Board Meeting -No corrections or
changes to the December 20, 2012 Regular Meeting Minutes and the board
approved unanimously.
B. Approval of December 2012 Financial Statements -No corrections or changes to
the December 2012 Financial Statements and the board approved unanimously.
C. Update on Lewis Plaza Redevelopment Project -Steve Clark & Associates -Mr.
Ficklin updated the board on the progress of the Lewis Plaza Redevelopment.
Mr. Ficklin advised that the tax credit application is moving forward and is will
be submitted on or before February 1, 2013 which is the due date. Questions
were asked by the board and they requested that Steve Clark & Associates email
them all a copyof the application once it is completed. Mr. Ficklin was thanked
for his time and his report.
D. Executive Directors Report -Ms. Sawin reviewed her written report and questions
were asked by the board. Ms. Sawin suggested that the Bank of America account
not be switched to another bank due to the complicated process to complete and
the board agreed.
E. Other Business: Ms. Olivia Horn submitted her resignation from the board and
reluctantly the board accepted. Her service was commended by all present.
There being no further business, meeting was adjourned until the next scheduled Regular
Board Meeting on February 28, 2013 at 6:00 p.m.
