THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS
The Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas met in Regular Session at
5:30 p.m., eSeptember 16, 2008, in the City Administration Building, Room 326,
Fayetteville, AR.
Olivia Horn, Chairperson called the meeting to order at approximately 5:30 p.m.

Leon Jones, Jr. and Mark Kinion

Housing Authority)
Ms. Olsen asked Mr. Earnest if he was able to meet with the auditors and Mr. Earnest
advised that he had not.
New Business
A. Approval of Minutes of Previous Regular Meeting -Mr. Earnest motioned to
accept the August 19, 2008 Regular Minutes, seconded by Ms. Olsen and carried
unanimously.
B. Approval of August 2008 Financial Statements -Financial Statements were
reviewed by the board. Ms. Olsen then motioned to accept the August 2008
Financial Statements, seconded by Mr. Earnest and carried unanimously.
C. Approval of Resolution #824 -Approving Annual Salary Increases -Ms. Sawin
advised that the increase was based upon a cost of living increase straight across
the board. Mr. Earnest felt it would be a good idea to have a consultant come in
sometime next year and review the salary ranges to see if they are where they
need to be. Mr. Earnest requested that this be brought up again sometime after
the first of the year and discussed further. Mr. Kinion motioned to approved
Resolution #824, seconded by Ms. Olsen and carried unanimously.
D. Approval of Resolution #825 -Authorizing the Write -Off of Certain Non -
Expendable Equipment that was Junked -Ms. Sawin advised that all appliances
that are junked are taken to a recycling center. Mr. Earnest motioned to accept
Resolution #825, seconded by Mr. Jones and 'carried unanimously.
E. Approval of Resolution #826 -Approving the Charge Off of Delinquent Accounts
of Former Tenants for Period 04/01/08 to 09/30/08 -Ms. Sawin advised that the
amount was a little less than usual. Mr. Jones asked about the "Other" column
and Ms. Sawin advised that this amount is for damages up and above normal wear
and tear. Mr. Jones motioned to accept Resolution #826, seconded by Mr.
Earnest and carried unanimously.
F. Executive Directors Report -Ms. Sawin reviewed her written report. Ms. Sawin
announced several up coming meetings. One is through "Street Smart" which is
scheduled for September 24, 2008. Another meeting worth attending is the
"ADFA" meeting which is scheduled for October 9, 2008 at Clarksville, AR. Ms.
Sawin will be attending this meeting and advised the board that if they wish to go
please let her know by October 2, 2008. The Partners for Better Housing retreat
with Stidham and Assoc., has been rescheduled to October I 01 and October 1 I`h,
2008 starting at 3:00 p.m. Ms. Sawin will make arrangements for the meeting
place and will contact the board as to the location.
There being no further business, meeting was adjourned.
