HOUSING AUTHORITY OF
THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS
The Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas met in Regular Session at
5:30 p.m., March 18, 2008, in the City Administration Building, Room 326, Fayetteville,
AR.
Olivia Hom, Chairperson called the meeting to order at approximately 5:30 p.m.
Commissioners Present: Hugh Earnest, Leon Jones, Jr., Deborah Olsen,
Olivia Horn and Mark Kinion
Commissioners Absent: None
Others Present: Fredia Sawin and Laura Higgins (Fayetteville Housing
Authority)

New Business
A. Approval of Minutes of Previous Regular Meeting -Ms. Olsen motioned to accept
the February 19, 2008 Regular Meeting Minutes, seconded by Mr. Earnest and
carried unanimously.
B. Approval of February 2008 Financial Statements -Financial statements were
discussed by the board. Ms. Sawin talked with David Land at Lindsey & Co., and
he will be coming to review asset management with the board as soon as things
slow down for him. Ms. Sawin will stay in touch with him and a time will be
scheduled in the future. Motion was made by Ms. Olsen to accept the February
2008 Financial Statements, seconded by Mr. Kinion and carried unanimously.
C. Approval of Resolution #809 -Approving Purchase of New Vehicle for Housing
Specialists -Ms. Sawin explained that due to the increasing number of programs
obtained by the Housing Authority it has become necessary to purchase a vehicle
to accommodate the Housing Specialist who will be doing inspections for these
new programs. Resolution was furthered discussed by the board and Ms. Olsen
motioned to accept Resolution #809, seconded by Mr. Kinion and carried
unanimously.
D. Executive Directors Report -Ms. Sawin reviewed her written report and announced
the addition of two programs which the Housing Authority will operate. These
include the 50 TBRA (Tenant Based Rental Assistance Program) and 35 Housing
Choice Vouchers for the VASH (Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing) program.

Ms. Horn also announced that the City of Fayetteville's Community Development
Department has invited the Housing Authority to participate in their second
annual housing fair which will be conducted on May 3, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to
3:00 p.m. Ms. Hom gave Ms. Sawin the application to complete and advised it
needed to be turned in by April 18, 2008.
There being no finther business, meeting was adjourned.
