HomeMy WebLinkAbout2007-03-20 - Minutes - Archive• • 0 MINUTES OF THE MARCH 20, 2007 REGULAR MEETING OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS The Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas met in Regular Session at 8:00 a.m., March 20, 2007, in the City Administration Building, Room 326, Fayetteville, AR. Richard Royal, Vice Chairperson called the meeting to order at approximately 8:00 a.m. Commissioners Present: Commissioners Absent: Others Present: Old Business Richard Royal, Deborah Olsen and Olivia Horn Betty Turner and Mark Kinion Fredia Sawin (Fayetteville Housing Authority) A. Update on Morgan Manor Housing Project -Ms. Sawin contacted Bruce Bokony with ADFA who advised that there is not a list of non-profit developers. He did refer her to a website under Multi -Housing to see who has been awarded tax credits in our area in the past. B. Update on Non -Profit 501 C3 (Partners for Better Housing) Status at IRS Level - Ms. Sawin contacted Mr. Crouch who advised there was a change in staff and a mix-up in the process and it was not sent to the IRS at the time we thought. Mr. Crouch did confirm that it has been sent and the process is now taking two to three months with the Katrina filings gone. New Business A. Approval of Minutes of Previous Regular Meeting -Ms. Hom motioned to accept the February 20, 2007 Regular Meeting Minutes, seconded by Ms. Olsen and carried unanimously. B. Approval of February 2007 Financial Statements -Ms. Sawin reviewed the financial statements. Ms. Olsen motioned to accept the February 2007 Financial Statements, seconded by Ms. Horn and carried unanimously. C. Executive Directors Report -Ms. Sawin reviewed her written report and reminded the board that there is a site tour of the Public Housing complexes scheduled for the next regular meeting in April. Ms. Horn announced the kickoff of the Tower of Flowers fund raising. There will be a press conference at the Hillcrest Towers Building on March 21, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Ms. Hom donated the first $100.00. Ms. Sawin also advised that she will be scheduling a date and time for the annual 2007 Agency Plan review and update and will notify the board via mail. It is time again to do the Annual Agency Plan which will update our Five Year Plan. This plan covers both the Public Housing and Section 8 programs and gives the community and HUD an outlook as to what our agency plans to accomplish for these two programs in the next five year period. We will need to schedule a time and place to review these updates and discuss any changes. 2. Public Housing has 4 vacancies, 0 at Willow Heights, • 2 at Lewis Plaza, 1 at Hillcrest Towers, and 1 at Morgan Manor. The Section 8 Program is full. The Shelter Plus Care Program has 8 participants and the Disaster Voucher Program has 6 participants. n LJ
