• THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS
The Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas met in Special Session at
5:30 p.m., Thursday, September 2, 2004, in the City Administration Building, Room 111,
Fayetteville, AR.
Janet Richardson, Chairperson, called the meeting to order at approximately 5:30 p.m.
Commissioners Present: Janet Richardson, Robin Ross and Betty Turner
Commissioners Absent: None
Others Present: Fredia Sawin, Laura Higgins (Fay. Housing Auth.),
Representatives of local newspapers
New Business
Selection of Commissioner -Ms. Ross met with Don Marr and obtained the list of
potential candidates this was passed out to all. Ms. Ross motioned to accept Richard
Royal to replace Nancy Bolin's position with the term expiring 12/28/07, seconded by
Ms. Richardson and carred unanimously. Ms. Sawin will draw up an official letter and
• fax it to the city clerk for acceptance by the City Council.
Other Business
Ms. Richardson will write letter to Dusti Miller and Nancy Bolin accepting their
resignations and thanking them for their service on the Housing Authority Board.
Ms. Ross asked if everyone got the information from Kit Williams which all advised they
had received it. Everyone agreed that it was very informative. This memo also stated
that Mr. Williams would not give any advise on replacing the resident board member.
Ms. Richardson did contact HUD personnel in Little Rock and go their ideas. Discussion
was made on the process of replacement and it was agreed to advertise to all through the
Public Housing Tenant's Council. Ms. Sawin will announce this at the next two tenant's
council meetings which are being held Sept. 13`h and Sept. 2151. Applications for this
board position will be accepted for 45 days after Sept. 20.
Ms. Ross requested the written proposal and drawings of the structures from Seven Hills
and copies of the minutes for the past two years for the review of the new board
members. Ms. Ross asked Ms. Sawin that they receive this information at least one week
ahead of the meeting. Ms. Richardson advised she only needed the proposal from Seven
Hills and not copies of the minutes. Ms. Turner advised she would pick her packet up
next Friday instead of mailing it to her.

RE: Election of a new Fayetteville Housing Authority Board Member
Dear Fayetteville City Council Members:
The Fayetteville Housing Board of Commissioners, in a Special Meeting on
Thursday September 2nd, 2004, elected a new Commissioner.
• This letter is to announce that, Mr. Richard Royal was elected as the new Fayetteville
Housing Authority Commissioner. He will be replacing Ms. Nancy Bolin..,
Therefore, we would like to ask that Mr. Richard Royal be ratified by the Fayetteville
City Council Members at the next City Council Meeting.
