MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS
The Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas met in Regular Session at 8:00 A.M. Tuesday
June 13th 2000 in the office of the Authority *1
North School, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Charles Clinehens, Chairperson, called the meeting to
order.
Commissioners Present:
Clinehens, Richardson, Childress,
Watson,
Commissioners Absent: Hudspeth
Others Present: [iromo Wilson, Jim Crouch
The Minutes of the May 16, 2000 Regular Meeting were approved by
motion, seconded, and carried unanimously.
The May Financial Statement was approved by motion,
seconded, and carried unanimously.
Mr. Wilson introduced Jim Crouch, attorney for the Housing
Authority, who discussed the present law suit between the
Housing Authority and Fair Housing Council. The Housing
Authority's insurance Company, Summit Risk Services, Inc.
has been in touch with Mr. Crouch and would like to meet
with the Fair Housing Council and pursue a settlement. The
Fair Housing Council, through HUD, has offered to settle
the case for $50,000. Summit Risk has a figure of $7,500
in mind to offer the Fair Housing Council. After further
discussion, Charles Clienhens, Chairman, made a motion to give
Mr. Crouch & Summit Risk Services authority to negotiate a
settlement up to amount of $30,000 at this time. The motion was
seconded and carried unanimously.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

SUBJECT: UPDATE ON LAWSUIT & MEETINGS
Jim Crouch has reported that a settlement has been reached
w ith the Fair Housing Lawsuit in am amount of $25,000. The
final sign off is not complete as the Fair Housing people
are having trouble finding two of their clients. -
On July 6 at 10:00 we will have our public hearing on the
Agency 5 -Year Plan & Annual Plan over at the Adult
center. Randy Hoeschen will be there to explain the plan
to any one from the public that shows up. Charles
Clienhens has indicated he will attend. In the past we
have not had anybody show up at public hearings.
Remember we have changed the July meeting to the second
Tuesday of the month, July 11, to pass necessary
Resolution for the plan so as to submit it on time.
I will send out a packet on July 7 for the meeting.
