MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS
The Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas met in Regular Session at 8:00 A.M. Wednesday
December 16, 1998 in the office of the Authority #1
North School, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Charles Clinehens, Chairperson, called the meeting
to order.
Commissioners Present: Clinehens, Richardson,
Fries, Hudspeth, Childress
Commissioners Absent: None
Others Present: Bromo Wilson, Fredia Sawin
The Minutes of the November 23, 1998 Regular Meeting were
approved by motion, seconded, and carried unanimously.
The November Financial Statement was approved by motion,
seconded, and carried unanimously.
RESOLUTION AMENDING SELECTION POLICY FOR PUBLIC HOUSING AND
SECTION 8 CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS. Resolution No. 620 was
approved by motion, seconded, and carried unanimously.
Clarence Fries was re-elected to serve a five year term
as Commissioner that will end 12/28/03
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

RESOLUTION NO. 620:
RESOLUTION AMENDING SELECTION POLICY FOR PUBLIC HOUSING
AND SECTION 8 CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
WHEREAS, The Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act
of 1998 was signed into law October 21, 1998 and
WHEREAS, the act repealed the Federal Preferences for
admissions to Public Housing and Section 8 programs,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE FAYETTEVILLE HOUSING AUTHORITY, amends it's tenant
selection policy by eliminating all federal preferences
effective February 1, 1999 and a public notice will be
published in the N.W. Ark Times for 30 days to advise the
public of this change and provide an opportunity for
public comment. A letter will be sent to each applicant
on the Housing Authority's waiting lists advising them of
this change.

• After February 1, 1999 the Fayetteville Housing
Authority's local preference will be "Date" & "Time" of
application.
