HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-08-29 - Minutes - Archive• • MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS The Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas met in Special Session at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 29, 1979 in the office of the Authority, #1 North School, Fayetteville, Arkansas. Upon roll call, the following were present: Commissioners Present: Tayilcr,-Seaton;.Mongan Commissioners Absent: Endress, Windham Others Present: Fredia Sawin, Pat Donat, Ralph Nesson, Bob Harlan The Chairman ordered that the following Waiver and Consent be spread upon the Minutes: WAIVER OF NOTICE OF AND CONSENT TO SPECIAL MEETING We, the undersigned, do hereby accept notice of this SPECIAL MEETING, waiving any and all irregularities in the service of notice and do hereby consent and agree that the Commissioners of the Housing Authority of Fayetteville, Arkansas shall meet at their regular meeting place at 8:30 a.m., on the 29th day of August, 1979 for the following purposes: 1. Roll Call 2. Discussion of Regional Housing Opportunity Plan, speaker, Bob Harlan /s/ Phillip Taylor /s/ Robert Windham /s/ Judy Endress /s/ Lloyd Seaton /s/ Sherman Morgan There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: The Fayetteville Housing Authority Board of Directors met in a Special Session to discuss the possibility of the acceptance to serve Washington County under a proposed Regional Housing Opportunity Plan for Benton and Washington Counties. Mr. Bob Harlan, planner with the Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission, was the speaker presenting the plan. Mr. Harlan told the commissioners, additional funding would be available for low cost housing if the plan is • adopted. Also, agreements must be obtained from 50 percent of the region's jurisdictions which contain 75 percent of the region's population before the plan can be approved. Mr. Harlan told the commissioners that having an approved Housing Opportunity Plan would give jurisdictions 50 points toward rankings on Community Development Block Grant application approval. 4 Bob Haran plans to meet with the Siloam Springs Housing Authority, designated • as the administration agency for Benton County. • After further discussion, the commissioners voted to confer with Mr. Kumpe on his opinion at the next Regular Meeting of September 19, 1979.
