HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-01-17 - Minutes - Archiveas MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS The Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas met in Regular Session at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 17, 1979 in the office of the Authority, #1 North School, Fayetteville, Arkansas Upon roll call, the following were present: Commissioners Present: Taylor, Endress, Morgan, Windham, Seaton Commissioners Absent: None Others Present: Chad Kumpe, Bromo Wilson, Pat Donat, Hugh Kincaid Fredia Sawin There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: Judy Endress welcomed the new commissioners, Mr. Lloyd. Seaton and Mr. Robert Windham. The Minutes of the December 20, 1978 Regular Meeting were approved by motion of Mr. Taylor, seconded by Mr. Morgan, and carried unanimously. Mrs. Endress stated that it would be appreciated if Mr. Seaton as an accountant would look over the Housing Authority Financial Statement for the Board meeting every month. The December Financial Statement was approved by motion of Mr. Taylor, seconded by Mr. Morgan, and carried unanimously. Mrs. Endress. explained how the meetings were handled each month , how long they lasted and what all was covered. Next on the agenda was the election of officers for 1979. Mr. Taylor was nominated to be Chairman by Mr. Morgan and seconded by Mr. Seaton. There being no other nominees, Mr. Taylor was voted Chairman by accla- mation. Mr. Windham was nominated to be Vice Chairman by Mr. Morgan and seconded by Mr. Taylor. There being no other nominees Mr. Windham was voted Vice Chairman by acclamation. Chad explained what the duties of the Chairman and Vice Chairman were: Chad mentioned that today is the day for the demolition bids at 10:O0a.m. Chad discussed the 52 Turnkey Units with the board members. Chad ex- plained how the 52 Units would be scattered in four designated areas. One area was Leverett Street and Center Street, another would be Center Street and highway 71, the third would be highway 71, School Street, and Huntsville Road, and the fourth would be spread at Center Street. After furthur discussion, Chad mentioned to the Board that these 52 scattered units could not be in close proximation with Willow Heights and Lewis Plaza.
