There was a discussion of the situation with VIEWS on the
West side housing project. There was a copy of a letter ,
from Mr. Dugan to VIEWS sent to each commissioner. HUD
disapproves of VIEWS working with the tenants, because they
h ave been sporadic and unsupervised, everyone had keys to
t he community building, and the community building was
being vandalized to a great extent. The decision has been
t hat VIEWS can work in the community building only under
direct supervision of the tenant organization.
There was a lengthy discussion of Parcel 21-A, 21 N. West St.
There is a group interested in purchasing this house in
o rder to restore it and preserve it for historical reasons.
These gentlemen, Terry Kost, Gregg Scott, John Mitchell, and
Cyrus Sutherland, introduced themselves and discussed their
proposal. They believe they can get federal funds to
✓ estore this house. This parcel is scheduled for demolition
April 26, 1974.
Motion was made by Mr. Clinton to issue an addendum that
t his parcel be deleted from the parcels scheduled for
demolition.
Motion seconded by Mr. Underwood.
