HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-04-17 - Minutes - Archive4 f • MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS The Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas met in Regular Session at 8:30 o'clock a.m., on Wednesday, April 17, 1974, in the office of the Housing Authority, #1 North School Avenue, Fayetteville, Arkansas. Mr. Gould, Vice -Chairman, called the meeting to order. On roll call the following members were present: Messrs: Commissioners: Gould, Clinton, Underwood, Morgan Absent: Commissioner Whillock Others: Robert Dugan, Bromo Wilson, Pat Donat, Mayor Purdy, Delbert Allen, Ed Moody, Hugh Kincaid, Pat Warford, Cyrus Sutherland, Terry Kost, John Mitchell, Gregg Scott There being a quorum present, the following business was t ransacted. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 20, 1974, w ere approved by motion of Mr. Clinton and seconded by Mr. Underwood, and carried unanimously. The Financial Report of the month of March, 1974, was approved by motion of Mr. Underwood and seconded by Mr. Clinton and carried unanimously. RESOLUTION #151 RESOLUTION APPROVING CREATION OF ANOTHER POSITION OF ADMINISTRATIVE AIDE After discussion, Resolution #151 was adopted by motion o f Mr. Underwood, seconded by Mr. Morgan. AYES: Gould, Clinton, Morgan, Underwood NAYES: None RESOLUTION #152 RESOLUTION APPROVING NEW INCOME LIMITS After discussion, Resolution #152 was adopted by motion of Mr. Clinton, seconded by Mr. Underwood. 1 4 AYES: Gould, Morgan, Clinton, Underwood NAYES: None There was a discussion of the situation with VIEWS on the West side housing project. There was a copy of a letter , from Mr. Dugan to VIEWS sent to each commissioner. HUD disapproves of VIEWS working with the tenants, because they h ave been sporadic and unsupervised, everyone had keys to t he community building, and the community building was being vandalized to a great extent. The decision has been t hat VIEWS can work in the community building only under direct supervision of the tenant organization. There was a lengthy discussion of Parcel 21-A, 21 N. West St. There is a group interested in purchasing this house in o rder to restore it and preserve it for historical reasons. These gentlemen, Terry Kost, Gregg Scott, John Mitchell, and Cyrus Sutherland, introduced themselves and discussed their proposal. They believe they can get federal funds to ✓ estore this house. This parcel is scheduled for demolition April 26, 1974. Motion was made by Mr. Clinton to issue an addendum that t his parcel be deleted from the parcels scheduled for demolition. Motion seconded by Mr. Underwood. AYES: Gould, Morgan, Clinton, Underwood NAYES: None The Board then went into executive session and was adjourned following the session. THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS Chairman RESOLUTION NO. 151 RESOLUTION APPROVING CREATION OF ANOTHER POSITION OF ADMINISTRATIVE AIDE WHEREAS, the Assistant Director of the Fayetteville Housing Authority has resigned, and; WHEREAS, there will be no replacement for his position, and; WHEREAS, many duties of the Assistant Director need to be attended to: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that another Administra- tive Aide be added to the work force of the Fayetteville Housing Authority. Further, the exemption policy 'shall be so administered as to preclude the admission of, or continued occupancy by, any;' family not of low income within the meaning of Federal or applicable state laws.
