HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-07-19 - Minutes - Archive& .A 4 0 0 E MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS The Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, met in regular session at 10:00 o'clock A,M,, on Wednesday, July 19, 1972, in the office of the Housing Authority, #1 North School Avenue, Fayetteville, Arkansas. On roll call the following members were present: Messrs: Whillock, Shelton, Douglas, Gould and Baxter Absent: None Others present: Ora Belle Rollow, Hugh Kincaid, David Faught, Donald Grimes, Rudy Alvarado, and Bromo Wilson, There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted, The minutes of June 21, Regular approved by motion of Mr. Gould, and carried unanimously, Meeting (as corrected) were seconded by Mr. Douglas The minutes of the Special Meeting of July 11, 1972, were approved by motion of Mr, Douglas, seconded by Mr. Baxter and carried unanimously, The financial report for June was approved by Mr. Gould, seconded by Mr. Baxter and carried unanimously. The Executive Director reported 62 tenants in the High Rise, seven vacancies on Site "B" and no vacancies on Site "A". David Faught reported that we had received correspondence from Otasco indicating the interest in acquiring and re- developing land on the square. Faught reported that a request was pending before the City Planning Commission which would allow the usage of the southeast corner, Spring and West Street, for offices for the Yellow Cab Company. Douglas moved that a recommendation be submitted to the Planning Commission for favorable action on this matter. Baxter seconded. David Faught reported that proposals have been received from Greer & Bronson for abstract services, however, some clarifica- tion is needed prior to letting the contract, The Board confirmed the employment of Mr, Delbert Allen as Urban Renewal Rehabilitation Officer, Mr, Douglas moved that "A . 2 - Mr. Allen be employed at an annual salary of $8000.00, effective August 1, 1972. Motion was seconded by Mr. Baxter and the following vote recorded: AYES: Whillock, Shelton, Douglas, Gould and Baxter NAYS: NONE Mr. Grimes, City Manager, reported that a comprehensive agree- ment is being worked out with the Office of Economic Oppor- tunity to plan and provide staff for Community Services for Site "B" Low Rent Housing Community Center.
