HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-02-02 - Minutes - ArchiveFI L • P MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS A Special Meeting of the Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, was held on February 2, 1972, at 10:00 A.M., in the office of the Housing Authority, 226 North Block Street, Fayetteville, Arkansas. The meeting was called to order and upon roll call the follow- ing members were present: Messrs: Whillock, Douglas, Gould, Baxter and Shelton Absent: None Also Present: Ora Belle Rollow, David Faught, Ernie Jacks, Warren Segraves, Byron Boyd, Clint Waldon, and Roy Clinton The Chairman ordered that/ the following Waiver and Consent be spread upon the Minutes: WAIVER OF NOTICE OF AND CONSENT TO SPECIAL MEETI We, the undersigned, do hereby accept notice of this SPECIAL Meeting, waiving any and all irregularities in the service of notice and do hereby consent and agree that the Commissioners of the Housing Authority of Fayetteville, Arkansas shall meet in the office of the Housing Authority, 226 North Block Street,• on the 2nd day of February, 1972, for the following purposes. 1. Discuss with the representatives of Campbell -Bell a plan for meeting the specifications for the draperies to be installed in the High Rise. ALJ 2. Resolution No. 83 Requesting Waiver r' Of Rents On Existing Federal Building /s/ Carl S. Whillock /s/ J. W. Gould Baxter s/ Ellis E. Shelton /s/ Hal C. Douglas There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: C. 0 2 - Chairman Mr. Whillock explained that the main purpose of the meeting was to discuss with the representatives of Campbell - Bell a plan for meeting the specifications for the draperies to be installed in the High Rise, Mr. Waldon said that if the Housing Authority would accept the color they would remake the draperies to meet the required length and to convert the double panel into a single panel. Mr. Douglas moved that the Housing Authority should accept Mr. Waldon's proposal this was seconded by Mr. Gould and the vote recorded: AYES: Whillock, Baxter, Douglas, Shelton and Gould NAYS: None The Chairman thereupon declared the motion carried and was adopted unanimously. Mr. Faught presented the following Resolution to the Commissioners for approval. RESOLUTION NO. 83 REQUESTING WAIVER OF RENTS ON EXISTING FEDERAL BUILDING • Mr. Douglas moved that the Resolution be adopted, seconded by Mr. Shelton and the vote recorded: AYES: Whillock, Baxter, Douglas, Shelton and Gould NAYS: None The Chairman thereupon declared the motion carried and was adopted unanimously. There being no further business the meeting adjourned. ATTEST: 0 Secretary APPROVED: llV+'/ n.1 4 RESOLUTION NO. 83 RESOLUTION REQUESTING WAIVER ON RENTS FOR EXISTING FEDERAL BUILDING WHEREAS, the Downtown Fayetteville Association has made available to the United States of America certain properties on which to construct a new Federal Building; and WHEREAS, the Downtown Fayetteville Association has received in exchange the existing Federal Building; and WHEREAS, the United States of America has reserved the right of rent free occupancy until such time as the new Federal Building is completed; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville to acquire said property as expeditiously as possible. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS: • 1. That the Housing Authority be permitted to acquire said structure as soon as the fair market value is established. 2. That the Housing Authority be allowed to waive any rental payments which would normally be due from the United States of America for said building. Passed and Approved this aJ day of 1972.
