MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS
The Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,
met in regular session at 10:00 o'clock A.M., on Wednesday,
September 15, 1971, in the office of the Housing Authority,
226 North Block Street, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
On roll call the following members were present:
Messrs: Whillock, Gould, and
Absent: Douglas and Shelton
Also Present: Tom Reid (HUD
Fry, Ora Belle
Baxter
Area Office), Mrs. Lois
Rollow and David Faught.
There being a quorum present, the following business was
transacted.
The minutes of the regular meeting of August 18, 1971, were
approved by motion of Mr. Baxter, seconded by Mr. Gould and
carried unanimously.
The financial report for the month of August, was approved by
motion of Mr. Baxter, seconded by Mr. Gould and carried
unanimously.
Mr. Gould moved that John Taylor be employed as Working Fore-
man for maintenance effective September 13, 1971, at an annual
salary of $7500 and truck expense of $35 per month until the
Authority can furnish a truck. Mr. Baxter seconded the motion
and the following vote was recorded:
AYES: Baxter, Gould and Whillock
NAYS: None
The Chairman thereupon declared the motion carried.
Mr. Gould moved that two staff members be authorized to attend
a Relocation Workshop at Tulsa, Oklahoma, September 27, 28 and
29 and to attend the National Meeting of NAHRO to be held in
Kansas City, October 4, 5 and 6, seconded by Mr. Baxter and
the following vote was recorded:
AYES: Whillock, Baxter, Gould
NAYS: None
The Chairman thereupon declared the motion carried.

The award of purchase of a truck to a bidder was delayed until
additional information and revised bids received on the hydraulic
lift.
Report on Low Rent Housing:
1. On September 10, 40 dwelling units it
Site "B" were accepted from the con-
tractor and occupancy was in process.
2. Site "A", acceptance of 40 dwelling units
has been delayed because of some deficiencies.
Another inspection will be made soon.
3. Site "J" is progressing satisfactorily and
should be ready for inspection in December.
Report on
Urban Renewal
- Tom Reid advised the commission
that the
Authority could
expect a letter within a few
days
approving
Part I of the
Loan and Grant application.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
