OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS
The Housing Authority of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, met
in regular session at 10:00 o'clock A. M., on Wednesday, June
16, 1971, in the office of the Housing Authority, 226 N. Block
Street, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
On roll call the following members were present:
Messrs: Whillock, Shelton, Baxter and Douglass
Absent: Gould
Also present: Hugh Kincaid, Ernest Jacks, David Powers,
Ralph Hayes, David Faught and Ora Belle
Rollow
There being a quorum present, the following business was trans-
acted:
The minutes of the regular meeting of May 19, 1971, were approved
by motion of Mr. Shelton, seconded by Mr. Douglass and carried
unanimously.
• The financial report for the month of May, was approved by motion
of Mr. Douglass, seconded by Mr. Shelton and carried unanimously.
Action on Resolution #63 - Ammending approved Dwelling Lease -
was deferred until the July regular meeting, to take advantage of
the thinking of a group of Local Authorities and HUD Representatives,
meeting in the Little Rock HUD Area Office, June 21, 1971, to discuss
a proposed uniform Dwelling Lease to be used.
A motion was made by Mr. Shelton and seconded by Mr. Douglass,
requesting that the Architects investigage an allegation made by
Sammy Evans; a worker for the Painting Sub -Contractor on Site "B"
stating that discarded, shoddy materials and workmanship were used
on this Site by the contractor. The Architects were asked to advise
the Authority by letter, of their findings. Mr. Jacks, representing
the Architects, agreed to do this.
Mr. Jacks, made the following report on the construction:
Site "J" Progress Schedule approximately 93% - Estimated Completion
56%. The project is behind schedule, but expected to be completed
by early October.
Site A and B Progress Schedule 100% - Estimated Completion 90-95%•
• The project is behind approximately one month, but expected to be
completed in another eight to ten weeks.
David Faught, reported that HUD Area Office reviewing of Part I
Loan and Grant Application, now pending approval, is progressing
slowly.
David Faught reported that all persons who were contacted on the
Project Area Committee were very enthusiastic about participation
on the Committee. It was suggested that David Faught explore the
possibility of the PAC touring various communities with Pedestrian
Malls.
The Executive Director, Ora Belle Rollow, announced that the Local
Housing Authority Office will start taking applications for ad-
mission to the Low Income Family Units on Monday, June 28, 1971.
The question arose about admission of students attending the U. of
A. Mr. Douglass moved that a policy be presented for adoption at
the next regular Board Meeting.
It was agreed that the next regular meeting will be held at one of
the Project Sites in order that the Commissioners could make a tour
of inspection of the project.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
