Vizzier had figures on approximate cost of five possible urban renewal projects. These five project areas are: 1. Downtown 2. Tin Cup • 3. South College - Jefferson School k. Rose Hill Addition 5. Fairgrounds Mr. Vizzier briefly defined the areas and pointed out the good and bad points of each. He mentioned possible means of financing each area. The Planning Consultant told the members it was very important to talk to the Downtown Association once a long range plan was chosen. The Downtown group could aid the Housing Authority in selling the project to business- men. The help the Downtown Association could give and the different approaches to an urban renewal project were considered. The Housing Authority discussed a GNRP (General Neighborhood Renewal Plan) for the entire downtown area of 14 blocks. The area would be broken down into 4 projects to be spread over a 10 year period. The members felt the 4 blocks front the square should be taken into consideration first. The application should be made on basis of what could be justified by credits. It was decided that the first project should include the two blocks on the north and east Bides of the square back to the alley. Ellis Shelton moved to adjourn.
