MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE FIREMEN'S PENSION AND RELIEF FUND BOARD
June 2, 1975
The regular monthly meeting of the Firemen's Pension and Relief Fund Board
was held June 2, 1975 at 4:30 p.m. in the City Manager's Office.
PRESENT: Chairman Donald L. Grimes; Treasurer Pat Tobin; Secretary Darlene
Westbrook; and Board members Charles McWhorter, Don Miller, and
Dean Harris.
ABSENT: Howard Boudrey, Ronald McArthur
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Grimes who asked if there be
any amendments to the minutes of the May 6, 1975 meeting. There being
none, Charles McWhorter motioned to approve the minutes as submitted. The
motion was seconded by Dean Harris and was passed unanimously.
Charles McWhorter, seconded by Don Miller, moved that the June pension list
be approved. In voice vote of the Board the motion passed unanimously.
Old business included the discussion and ratification of the Treasurer's
action to renew a $26,000.00 Certificateof Deposit for one year at Mcllroy
Bank at an interest rate of 7.125%.
Treasurer Pat Tobin informed the Board that no investments were due to mature
before July. However, he did recommend that $18,000.00 of the $23,000.00
cash balance be invested for a short term with the possibility of combining
it with another certificate to mature July 1. Charles McWhorter made a
motion to invest the $18,000.00 for 30 days and Don Miller seconded the
motion. In voice vote of the Board the motion passed unanimously.
There being no further business, Charles McWhorter motioned to adjourn the
meeting. Dean Harris seconddd the motion which passed unanimously.
