MINUTES OF A RECONVENED MEETING OF THE FIREMEN'S PENSION AND RELIEF FUND BOARD
January 16, 1975
The regular monthly meeting held January 6, 1975 of the Firemen's Pension and
Relief Fund Board was adjourned until January 16 to allow the treasurer to
negotiate a one-year investment of $178,000 in funds. Chairman Grimes
reconvened the meeting on January 16, 1975 in the City Manager's Office
at 4:30 p.m.
Present. Donald L. Grimes, Chairman; Pat Tobin, Treasurer; Darlene Westbrook,
Secretary; and Fire Pension Board members Larry Poage, Charlie
McWhorter, and Ronald McArthur.
Absent: Donald Miller and N. D. McChristian
Chairman Grimes requested that the minutes of the January 6, 1975 meeting
be amended to read: "Larry Poage then moved to adjourn the meeting until
January 16 at 4:30 p.m."
The Board was informed that the highest interest rate quotation on the
one-year $178,000 certificate of deposit of eight percent was received from
Mcllroy Bank. A motion to invest the funds with Mcllroy Bank for a one-year
period at an interest rate of eight percent was made by Charles McWhorter
and was seconded by Larry Poage. The motion was unanimously approved by
those members present.
There being no further business fbrthe Board's consideration, Chairman
Grimes declared the meeting adjourned.
