MINUTES OF MEETING OF FIREMEN'S PENSION
AND RELIEF FUND BOARD
MAY 7, 1973
4:30 P.M. CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE
Present: Chairman Donald Grimes, Treasurer Pat Tobin, Secretary Helen Young,
Fire Chief Charles McWhorter, Richard Baird, Bill Boudrey, and Howard Boudrey.
Absent: Harold Lee.
Minutes of the April 2, 1973 meeting had been previously distributed to the
board members. Fire Chief McWhorter moved the minutes of the April 2, 1973
meeting be approved. Motion was seconded by Howard Boudrey. The motion
passed unanimously.
Fire Chief McWhorter presented retirement application for part -paid fireman
Joe Reed who completed 20 years of service as of April 2, 1973. Howard Boudrey
moved Joe Reed be granted pension payments of $45.00 per month to begin in
May, 1973. Bill Boudrey seconded the motion. Upon roll call vote the motion
passed unanimously. Board members signed the retirement application.
Treasurer Pat Tobin presented Pension Authorization Form fbr the month of May
to be amended by adding Joe Reed who will receive a pension payment of $45.00.
Bill Boudrey moved the Pension Authorization Form for the month of May be
approved. Richard Baird seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Treasurer Pat Tobin announced that the $10,000 which was recommended for
investment at the April 2, 1973 meeting has been added to monies from several
different funds to make a total of $103,000 which has been invested at a rate
of seven percent for one year.
Treasurer Pat Tobin reminded the board members that an investment of $105,000
will mature on June 24, 1973.
There being no further business, Howard Boudrey moved the meeting be adjourned.
Fire Chief McWhorter seconded the motion which passed unanimously whereupon
Chairman Grimes declared the meeting adjourned.
