MINUTES OF MEETING OF FIREMEN'S PENSION
AND RELIEF FUND BOARD
APRIL 2, 1973
4:30 P.M. CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE
Present: Chairman Donald Grimes, Treasurer Pat Tobin, Secretary Helen Young,
Fire Chief Charles McWhorter, Richard Baird, Bill Boudrey, and Howard Boudrey.
Absent: Harold Lee.
Minutes of the March 5, 1973 meeting had been previously distributed to the
board members. Fire Chief McWhorter moved the minutes of the March 5, 1973
meeting be approved. Motion was seconded by Howard Boudrey. The motion
passed unanimously.
Treasurer Pat Tobin presented Pension Authorization Form for the month of
April with no changes. Fire Chief McWhorter moved the Pension Authorization
Form for the month of April be approved. Bill Boudrey seconded the motion
which passed unanimously.
Fire Chief McWhorter announced that Joe Reed, part -paid fireman, will complete
twenty years of service on April 4, 1973. Board members signed the twerityyear
certificate for Mr. Reed. The certificate will be presented to Mr. Reed after
April 4, 1973.
Treasurer Pat Tobin announced that the fund balance is $17,000. Mr. Tobin
recommended that $10,000 be added to one of the $100,000 investments or that
other arrangements be made in order to get the highest interest rate possible
on the investment, Fire Chief McWhorter moved the Treasurer be authorized to
"shop around" and invest $10,000 at the best interest rate possible. Bill
Boudrey seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Treasurer Pat Tobin announced that he has had no word from Morton and Company
regarding the actuary study of the Firemen's Pension and Relief Fund.
There being no further business, Richard Baird moved the meeting be adjourned.
Howard Boudrey seconded the motion which passed unanimously whereupon Chairman
Grimes declared the meeting adjourned.
