MINUTES OF MEETING OF FIREMEN'S PENSION
AND RELIEF FUND BOARD
FEBRUARY 5, 1973
4:30 P.M. CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE
Present: Fire Chief and Acting Chairman Charles McWhorter, Treasurer Pat
Tobin, Secretary Helen Young, Richard Baird, Bill Boudrey, Howard Boudrey
and Harold Lee.
Absent: Donald Grimes.
Treasurer Pat Tobin presented the Pension Authorization Form for the month
of February with no changes. Bill Boudrey moved the Pension Authorization
Form for the month of February be approved. Motion was seconded by Harold
Lee. Upon roll call the motion passed unanimously.
Minutes of the January 2, 1973 meeting had been previously distributed to
the board members. Bill Boudrey referred to paragraph four of the minutes
of the January 2, 1973 meeting and asked where the Fund acquired the $10,000
which was invested. Treasurer Tobin stated that it was the last tax
payment for 1972 which was received on December 31, 1972. Bill Boudrey
moved the minutes of the last meeting be approved. Motion was seconded by
Howard Boudrey. Upon roll call the motion passed unanimously.
Treasurer Pat Tobin handed to the Board members financial statements for
the Firemen's Pension and Relief Fund for 1972. Mr. Tobin explained that
"Due from other funds" account shows $4,113.79 and is a result of tax
monies being deposited to the Public Works Fund in error. The error will
be corrected in February and outstanding due will be paid then.
Mr. Tobin reported that Morton and Company at this time has not furnished
any information in writing regarding the Firemen's Pension and Relief Fund.
After some discussion concerning Charlie Jordan and whether or not he
should be allowed to place his money in the Fund, Richard Baird moved
that Mr. Jordan be given a period of one year to decide whether or not to
place his money in the Fund. Bill Boudrey seconded the motion which passed
unanimously.
There being no further business, Bill Boudrey moved the meeting be adjourned.
Harold Lee seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously and Acting
Chairman Charles McWhorter declared the meeting adjourned.
