Minutes of the December 4. 1972 meeting had been previously distributed to
the board members, There were no corrections or additions to the minutes.

was seconded by Bill Boudrey and passed unanimously.
Treasurer Pat Tobin presented the Pension Authorization Form for the month
of January with no changes, Howard Boudrey moved the Pension Authorization
Form for the month of January be approved. Motion was seconded by Charles
McWhorter. Upon roll call the motion passed unanimously.
Treasufer Pat Tobin reported a total of approximately $16,000 cash. He
suggested taking $10,000 to be invested, leaving approximately $6,000 in
cash. Charles McWhorter moved that Treasurer Tobin be given authority to
try and get the best possible interest (6 1/4%) rate for the $10,000 to be
invested, Bill Boudrey seconded the motion. Upon roll call the motion
passed unanimously.
The status of Charlie Jordan, a part -paid fireman, was discussed by Fire
Chief McWhorter. Mr, Jordan was a full-time fireman for 16 months at one
time. At the time of termination he withdrew approximately $200 he had paid
into the Fund. He is now asking to again place his money in the Fund. The
Board agreed that he had been a good fireman and that Mr. Jordan was probably
hoping he might again become a full-time fireman. They agreed that this might
not be possible due to the fact that Mr, Jordan has been convicted of a felony
and the fact that his education would not meet the requirements now set.
Chairman Grimes suggested Mr. Jordan might take the GED Exam and if he passed
this exam this might qualify him educationally. There might still be a
problem with the felony charge.
It was agreed unanimously that Fire Chief McWhorter should talk to Mr. Jordan,
explaining these matters to him and if he still wishes to put his $200 back
into the Fund he will be allowed to do so.
Mr. Tobin reported on the actuary study which is being done by Morton and
Company. Mr. Herrell of Morton and Company says the Fire Pension Fund is
"deficient" to some degree but he has not finished the study yet.
There being no further business, Bill Boudrey moved the meeting be adjourned.
Howard Boudrey seconded the motion, The motion passed unanimously and
Chairman Grimes declared the meeting adjournedp
