HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-10-09 MinutesMINUTES OF MEETING OF FIREMEN'S PENSION AND RELIEF FUND BOARD OCTOBER 9, 1972 4:30 P.M. CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE Present: Chairman Donald L. Grimes, Young, Fire Chief Charles McWhorter, Boudrey and Harold Lee. Members Absent: None. Treasurer Pat Tobin, Secretary Helen Richard Baird, Bill Boudrey, Howard Minutes of the September 11, 1972 meeting had been previously distributed to the board members. Fire Chief McWhorter moved the minutes of the September 11, 1972 meeting be approved. Harold Lee seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Treasurer Pat Tobin presented Pension Authorization Form for the month of October with no changes. Bill Boudrey moved to approve the Pension Authorization Form for October. Howard Boudrey seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Treasurer Pat Tobin announced that no cost estimate for performing the actuary study has been received from Morton and Company. Fire Chief McWhorter suggested that the secretary write a letter to Morton and Company asking for an estimate for performing the actuary study and requesting the information be made available for the next Firemen's Pension Board meeting to be held on November 6, 1972. Treasurer Pat Tobin reported that a $100,000 note has matured at McIlroy Bank. If the $100,000 were reinvested at McIlroy Bank, the best rate they would give is two years at 6 percent. Fire Chief McWhorter suggested that Mr. Tobin be instructed to check with other institutions to get the best rate possible for the investment. It was the will of the Board to do so. Treasurer Pat Tobin reported that the cash balance in the Firemen's Pension and Relief Fund at this time is $11,200. There being no further business, Howard Boudrey moved the meeting be adjourned.
