HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-06-02 MinutesMINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING • BOARD OF TRUSTEES FIREME141S PENSION AND RELIEF FUND June 2, 1969 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Firemen's Pension and Relief Fund of Fayetteville, Arkansas, was held in the Directors Room in the City Admini- stration Building on Monday, June 2, 1969, at 4:45 p.m. Present: Treasurer Albert J. Jones, Secretary Marilyn Moore, Fire Chief Burl Skelton, and Board Members: Paul Logue, Paul Blackard Joe Fraley, and Carl Springston. Absent: Chairman Wesley M. Howe. Mr. Skelton moved to approve the minutes of the last regular meeting on Monday, Mav 5, 1969, a copy of which had previously been mailed to each Board Member. The motion was seconded by Mr. Logue, and upon roll call the following vote was recorded: °Aye° Fraley, Springston, Skelton, Logue, and Blackard. "Nay" none. There being five "Ayes" and no "Na.ys", the Chairman Pro Tem declared the motion passed. The Secretary presented the Authorization Form to pay the May pensions. Mr. Blackard moved that the disbursements be allowed. The motion was seconded by Mr. Logue, and upon roll call the following vote was recorded: "Aye" Fraley, Springston, Skelton, Logue, and Blackard. "Nay" none. There being five "Ayes" and no "Nays", the Chairman Pro Tem declared the motion passed. • Mr. Jones recommended that $10,000.00 be invested with First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Little Rock in Variable Rate Certificates to pay 51 interest quarterly. Mr. Blackard moved to accept the recommendation and authorize the investment of $10,000.00 in Variable Rate Certificates with First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Little Rock. The motion was seconded by Dir. Springston, and upon roll call the following vote was recorded: "Aye" Fraley, Springston, Skelton, Logue, and Blackard. "Nay" none. There being five "Ayes" and no "Nays", the Chairman Pro Tem declared the motion passed. Mr. Skelton moved to increase the monthly payment made to Leslie Ann Lane, the only child drawing benefits from the Firemen's Pension and Relief Fund, $15.00 per month, making the total amount paid to her each month $25.00. The motion was seconded by Mr. Fraley, and upon roll call the following vote was recorded: "Ave" Frale'1r, Springston, Skelton, Logue, and Blackard. "Nay" none. There being five "Ayes" and no "Nays", the Chairman Pro Tem declared the motion passed. There being no further business, Mr. Springston moved to adjourn. The motion was seconded b\r Mr. Blackard and passed unanimousl.r, whereupon the Chairman Pro Tem declared the meeting adjourned.
