FIREME141S PENSION AND RELIEF FUND
June 2, 1969
The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Firemen's Pension and Relief
Fund of Fayetteville, Arkansas, was held in the Directors Room in the City Admini-
stration Building on Monday, June 2, 1969, at 4:45 p.m.
Present:
Treasurer Albert J. Jones,
Secretary Marilyn Moore,
Fire Chief Burl Skelton,
and Board
Members: Paul Logue, Paul
Blackard Joe Fraley, and
Carl Springston.
Absent:
Chairman Wesley M. Howe.
Mr. Skelton moved to approve the minutes of the last regular meeting on Monday, Mav 5,
1969, a copy of which had previously been mailed to each Board Member.
The motion was seconded by Mr. Logue, and upon roll call the following vote was
recorded: °Aye° Fraley, Springston, Skelton, Logue, and Blackard.
"Nay" none. There being five "Ayes" and no "Na.ys", the Chairman Pro Tem declared
the motion passed.
The Secretary presented the Authorization Form to pay the May pensions.
Mr. Blackard moved that the disbursements be allowed. The motion was seconded by
Mr. Logue, and upon roll call the following vote was recorded: "Aye" Fraley,
Springston, Skelton, Logue, and Blackard.
"Nay" none. There being five "Ayes" and no "Nays", the Chairman Pro Tem declared
the motion passed.
• Mr. Jones recommended that $10,000.00 be invested with First Federal Savings and
Loan Association of Little Rock in Variable Rate Certificates to pay 51 interest
quarterly.
Mr. Blackard moved to accept the recommendation and authorize the investment of
$10,000.00 in Variable Rate Certificates with First Federal Savings and Loan
Association of Little Rock.
The motion was seconded by Dir. Springston, and upon roll call the following vote
was recorded: "Aye" Fraley, Springston, Skelton, Logue, and Blackard.
"Nay" none. There being five "Ayes" and no "Nays", the Chairman Pro Tem declared
the motion passed.
Mr. Skelton moved to increase the monthly payment made to Leslie Ann Lane, the only
child drawing benefits from the Firemen's Pension and Relief Fund, $15.00 per month,
making the total amount paid to her each month $25.00.
The motion was seconded by Mr. Fraley, and upon roll call the following vote was
recorded: "Ave" Frale'1r, Springston, Skelton, Logue, and Blackard.
"Nay" none. There being five "Ayes" and no "Nays", the Chairman Pro Tem declared
the motion passed.
There being no further business, Mr. Springston moved to adjourn.
The motion was seconded b\r Mr. Blackard and passed unanimousl.r, whereupon the
Chairman Pro Tem declared the meeting adjourned.

There are three basic plans which we now offer --all of them 'INSURED,
and interest guaranteed on all of them:
4 3/47 Regular passbook savings --the highest rate permitted for
Insured Institutions. This is the plan we have such great
success with --the plan you are using now. It offers the
most flexible high -rate savings plan where your funds are
insured and available on request, and with your interest •A•
guaranteed from the date of your deposit to the date of ///���
withdrawal on deposits here at least ninety days. No yuN
minimum or maximum amount.
• 5% 90 -Day Notice Account, in amounts of $1,000 or more. A new
rate. This will be of interest to those who do not need
the immediate availability of the regular passbook plan.
Ninety days notice is required for all withdrawals; this
is a federal regulation.

Certificates, 6 to 12 months, in amounts of $5,000 or more.
funds will be invested for a fixed term, not less than
ix months,, and cannot be withdrawn except for emergency
hardship.! The Certificate is primarily for those savers who
can plan ahead for the use of their funds and who conclude,
that their other resources will take care of emergencies.

accounts from date of deposit is guaranteed --no matter what plan is selected --
subject to federal regulations.
