THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF
THE FIREMEN'S PENSION & RELIEF FUND
The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Firemen's Pension & Relief Fund of
Fayetteville, Arkansas, was held in the City Manager's office on Monday, February 3, 1969,
at 4:45 p.m.
Present: Fire Chief Burl Skelton, Secretary Marilyn Moore, Acting Chairman and Treasurer
Albert J. Jones, and Board Members: Paul Logue, Paul Blackard, and Clarence Tune.
Absent at roll call: Bill Harris
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting on Monday, January 6, 1969, a copy of which had been
mailed to each Board Member, were approved as written.
A complete financial statement prepared by Albert J. Jones was also mailed to each Board
Member.
Mr. Jones suggested that the mailing of the minutes be made a regular practice in order
that Board Members have a permanent record of the meetings. This was approved unanimously.
Board Member Bill Harris entered at this time.
The Secretary presented the Authorization Form to pay the January pensions. Fire Chief
Skelton moved that the disbursements be allowed. The motion was seconded by Mr. Tune and
•Upon roll call the following vote was recorded: "Ave" Skelton, Logue, Blackard, Harris,
and Tune.
"Nay" none.
There being five "Ayes and no "Nays", the Acting Chairman declared the motion passed.
The Acting Chairman explained that Pension Checks in the future would be written by
machine. This was approved by the Board Members,
Mr. Skelton moved that Jerry Hattabaugh be instructed to reimburse contributions in the
amount of $129.05 for the period 1-16-65 to 4-22-66. Unless the fund is reimbursed for
the contributions, Mr. Hattabaugh would lose this time for pension purposes.
The motion was seconded by Mr. Blackard and upon roll call the following vote was recorded:
"Aye" Skelton, Logue, Blackard, Harris, and Tune.
"Nay" none.
There being five "Ayes" and no "Nays", the Acting Chairman declared the motion passed.
A discussion was held concerning investments of the Firemen's Pension Fund. A decision
was made to try and find more associations paying 54 per cent interest.
There being no further business, Mr. Skelton moved to adjourn.
The motion was seconded by Mr. Harris and passed unanimously, whereupon the Acting
Chairman declared the meeting adjourned.
