HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-07-03 Minutes• • I MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE FIREMEN'S PENSION & RELIEF FUND BOARD OF TRUSTEES The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Firemen'a Pension & Relief Fund of Fayetteville, Arkansas, was held in the Board of Directors Room in the City Administration Building on Monday, July 3, 1967, at 4:45 P. M. Present: Fire Chief Burl Skelton, Secretary George J: Davis, and Board Members: Bill Harris, DoyQe Morrison, and Charles McWhorter. Absent: Chairman Mayor Don Trumbo, Treasurer Albert J. Jones,fnd Board Member Clarence Tune. In the absence of the Mayor, Fire dhief Burl Skelton acted as Chairman Pro Tem. The minutes of the regular meeting on Monday, June 5, 1967, were read and approved. The Secretary presented the Authorization Form to pay the June Pensions. Mr. Skelton moved that the disbursements be allowed. The motion was seconded by Mr. Harris and upon roll call the following vote was recorded, "Aye" Skelton, Harries Morrison, and McWhorter. "Nay" None. There being four "Ayes" and No "Nays", the Chairman Pro Tem declared the motion passed. The Secretary reported that Leonard H. Davis, who had recently been reinstated as a full- time paid Fireman, had repaid the sum of $200.60 as payment in full for the amount which he had withdrawn when he resigned several months ago, and that Dale Fredrick and Tray Schader had agreed to make payments on the contributions which they withdrew when they resigned but had made no payments as of this date. (The Secretary was instructed to write a letter of appreciation to Leonard H. Davis and to assure him that he had been reinstated in full) ,v%� 40&;X� The Secretary reported that the Pension & Relief Fund had a surplus of $10,000.00 in the checking account which could be invested as the Board desired. After a brief discussion, Mr. Skelton moved that the Secretary be and he is hereby authorized to invest $5,000.00 with the Fayetteville Building & Loan Assn, Fayetteville, Arkansas, thereby increasing our investment with them to $15,000.00 and the other $5,000.00 with either Rogers Savings & Loan Assn, Rogers, Ark., or Benton County Savings & Loan Ass'n, Bentonville, Arkansas, whic efer was availab e,,t�preby increasin our investment with either to $15,000.00. eO "=•.7J The motion was seconded by Mr. Harris and upon roll call the following vote was recorded: "Aye" Skelton, Harris, Morrison, and McWhorter. "Nay"It one. There being four "Ayes" and No "Nays", the Chairman Pro Tim declared the motion passed. There being no further business, Mr. McWhorter moved to adjourn.
