HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-07-05 MinutesMINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 1' THE FIREMEN'S PENSION & RELIEF 1 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Firemen's Pension &Relief Fund of Fayetteville, Arkansas, was held in the City Clerk's Office on Tuesday, July 5/ 19660 at 4145 P. M. Present: Fire Chief Burl Skelton, Secretary George J. Davis, and Board Members: Bill Harris, Doyle Morrison, and Charles McWhorter. Absent: Mayor Don Trumbo, Treasurer Albert J. Jones, and Board Member Ciarence Time, In the absence of Chairman Don Trumbo, Fire Chief Burl Skelton acted as Chairman Pro Tem. The minutes of the regular meeting on Monday, June 6, 1966s, were read and approved. The Secretary presented the authorisation form to pay the June Pensions. Mr. Harris moved that the disbursements be allowed. The motion was eecmnded by Mr. McWhorter and X% upon roll call the following vote was recorded: "Aye" Skelton, Harris, Morrison, and McWhorter. "Nay" None. There being Four "Ayes" and No "Nays", the Chairman Pro Tem decUred the motion passed. The Secretary reported that he had $109000.00 6nrplus in the checking account which could be invested as the Board desired and he recommended that it be invested in a •Savings Certificate bearing 4J% compounded Quarterly, with the First State Bank in Springdale, Arkansas. Mr. Harris moved that the Secretary be and he is hereby authorised to invest the sum of $10,000.00 with the First State Bank of Springdale, Arkansas, as outline above. The motion was seconded by Mr. McWhorter and upon roll call the followigg Vote was recorded, "Aye" Skelton, Harris, Morrison, and McWhorter. " Nay" None. There being Four "Ayes" and No "Nays", the Chairman Pro Tem declared the motion passed. There being no further business, Mr. Harris moved to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Mr. McWhorter and passed unanimously, whereupon the Chairman Pro Tem declared the meeting adjourned.
