HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-02-07 Minutes• MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE FIREMEN'S PENSION & RELIEF FUND The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Firemen's Pension & Relief Fund of Fayetteville, Arkansas, was held in the City Clerk's Office on Monday February 7, 1966, at 4:45 P. M. Present: Chairman Mayor Guy E. Brown, Secretary George J. Davis, Fire Chief Burl Skelton, and Board Members: Arthur Caselman, Doyle Morrison, and Clarence Tune. Absent: Treasurer Albert J. Jones, and Board Member Bill Harris. The minutes of the regular meeting on Monday, January 3, 1966, were read and approved. The Secretary presented the authorization foom to pay the January Pensions. Mr. Morrison moved that the disbursements be allowed. The motion was seconded by Mr. Caselman and upon roll call the following vote was recorded: "Aye" Skelton, Caselman, Morrison, and Tune. "Nay" None. There being four "Ayes" and no "Nays" the Chairman declared the motion passed. The Secretary reported that Cleo Morris had been with the Fire Dept. as a volunteer fireman for 20 years(Jan. 2, 1946 to Feb 7, 19660 and that he had made application for pension effective as of Feb. 1, 1966 subject to the approval of the Pension & Relief Fund Pension Board. • After a brief discussion, Mr. Skelton moved to approve the application of Cleo Morris and that the Secretary be and he is hereby authorized to enter Cleo Morris on the pension list at the rate of $35.00 per month (at present) effective as of February 1, 1966. The motion was seconded by Mr. Tune and upon roll call the following vote was recorded: "Aye" Skelton, Caselman, Morrison, and Tune. "Nay" None. There being four "Ayes" and no "Nays" the Chairman declared the motion passed. Fire Cheif Skelton reported that QmW Dearing, volunteer fireman, was sick and hab been unable to work or attend any fires or meetings for several months and would probably never be able to be active as a volunteer fireman. After a brief discussion, Or. Caselman moved to piece Lacey Dearing on the Disablity Retirement List effective Feb. 1, 1966 and thtt the City Clerk be authorized to enter Lacey Dearing on the Pension List at the rate of $35.00 per month (at present) effective as of February 1, 1966. The motion was seconded by Mr. Tuiie and upon roll call the following vete was recorded: "Aye" Skelton, Caselman, Morrison, and Tune. "Nay" None. There being four "Ayes" and no "Nays" the Chairman declared the motion passed. There being he -further business, Mr. Skelton moved to adjourn.
